| "EAST KY CHARACTERS" Each of these unique characters lived in East Kentucky and Southwest Virginia. They lived when the mountains and streams were pristine. Very few houses dotted the landscape and raising your own food was the way of life. Very little money ever filled their pockets, but each were rich in mountain tradition. Supporting a family was sometimes difficult. Many had to turn to running "shine" to survive. Some were just plain roudy and liked its false courage. While some were destroyed by its spirits. These stories portray life in the mountains when life was hard. | ||
