Highly collectable PICBONE handled straight razor made by John Primble of Louisville, Kentucky in the late 1800s. These handles were made to resemble stag antler handles because the stag was very expensive and these were a good look-alike substitute that could be sold for less. The handles are made from bone, then the handle maker used a sharp pick to dig out small sections. Since labor was so cheap then, even if it took a lot of time and craftsmanship it sold for less money. These handles are very thin and most have chips or cracks or don't have the side metal plate on the handles. This one has no damage at all to the handles. Rare. Price = $225
